Yes, this is completely normal and temporary! During the treatment, teeth can experience slight localized dehydration under the strip. The advanced gel on our strips is designed to stay firmly in place and will not easily dissolve or wash away. The tiny amounts of saliva mixed with gel that you might accidentally swallow during the application are non-toxic and perfectly safe. However, we do not recommend intentionally swallowing the gel and suggest spitting out any excess saliva build-up if you feel uncomfortable.

PearLUX strips are highly efficient and only require 30 minutes to deliver full color-correcting results. We strongly advise against leaving them on for longer than 60minutes. If you wear traditional metal or ceramic braces, we recommend waiting until they are removed to ensure an even, uniform brightening across the entire surface of your teeth. However, if you use clear, removable aligners (like Invisalign), you can absolutely use PearLUX strips—just pop out your aligners before applying the strips!
